I don't cry often when reading books, in fact after reading over a thousand only a handful have brought me to tears or sobbing. Their connection drawn from tragedy, this author's words took me there. This story has excellent everything, hero, heroine, storyline, secondary characters, beauty and depth inside and out of the two main characters West and Penn, it was sexy with great scenes, no cliffhanger, little cursing and best yet HEA. I can't wait to read the next book hopefully giving us more of their future. I'm not a hockey fan reader only football when it comes to sports and romance but Jennifer won me over!

My favorite lines that stuck with me enough to write, "The last thing I want to do is pretend we never happened. I'm not going to go through my memories-photos-with an eraser to scratch out a part of my life. And you shouldn't either. Because it doesn't change anything. I think we both know that better than anyone. It didn't work for me with Drew. It won't work for us, either. Okay?"

The first book was my absolute favorite! I watched the store forever waiting for this book when I found out it was a series still being written. Again the first book was/is one of my favorite hockey love story books this one didn't disappoint either!
I always prefer a series because you get more depth of each character. The author is wonderful. The characters are not perfect, a little broken, a little scarred reminiscent of real life. She felt with issues that are ugly but showed there is redemption or healing. The sexy scenes were smoking hot and not cheesy. I also like the way she sets up the next book in their series.
Finally, a story with substance! It had all the key ingredients, likable female characters, hot sexy men that were loyal, some humor, and a happy ending. I look forward to reading all the books in this series.
I loved Penn and West in this story. The author handles some strong subject matter here and does it with class.
This story makes you think and I love how the author doesn't rush them to be a couple but takes you on their journey.
I am looking forward to more from this author.
I really loved this book. After reading book one. I was interested in knowing more about West. I can't wait to maybe hopefully learn about the other players as well. Eli, Shaw, and Brandon.

Also the I guess I would use the words leading lady Penn, she was a awesome character.

If you like hockey and a good romance read this book. It's worth it. Read book one as well. Ryder is just as yummy and wonderful as West.
So, I'm already chomping at the bit for book #3, and I'll be honest I'm hoping for the new guy - Chris? - but only because I enjoy the Holly/Eli side story and think it'd be fun to see them twist a while longer. In twisted, I know.

So what about this book? It's MUCH better than the first and I loved that one. The characters are very real to me, or I at least felt like I could relate to them. The plot devices were pretty believable in a world where that's been lost, and I have to say, this was pretty danger intense at times. Super hilarious at others. I have a hard time seeing Penn threatening her bad boy and anyone taking it seriously! Lol. But she was no roll over girl, and I give all kinds of kudos for being soft with out being wilted.

I'm a sucker for sports romances and this one hit all the hot buttons for me. Two thumbs up!
