This is the Second in a series based on the journals of a fictitious young lady named Corrie Belle Hollister. It takes place at thetimeof the California gold rush. It is the story of a family struggling to survive during a time of social and economic turmoil. There are many elements of the Old West with gun fights and gambling in saloons. Corrie dreams of becoming a writer. She faithfully journals her perspectives on the changing social picture as well as her emotional responses to life in a mining town.
The book is writteninhervoice. It includes her emerging faith in God under the tutelage of strong, wise business woman who mentors her. I found it and the other three books of this series refreshing and encouraging.
What a delightful book. This is full of ways God can work in our lives if we will trust Him. A wonderful way one can allow God to move in our behalf. It comes down to trusting God who does all things well. You will be touched by God's hand while you read this and discover ways of trusting God in order that His will be done.
